Save Instagram Reels straight to your Google Drive in original 1080p vertical quality — no watermark, no screen-recording, no installing a sketchy «Instagram downloader» app. Paste the Reel's link, pick your folder, the file lands within seconds.
Why save Reels to Google Drive instead of phone storage?
For content creators, marketers, and trend-researchers, Reels are source material — not a final archive. You need them as plain MP4s in a place where:
- Your editor can grab them without your Instagram credentials.
- You can cross-post to TikTok / YouTube Shorts without the Instagram watermark giving away source.
- Your phone storage doesn't fill up with hundreds of viral-research clips.
- You have version control and shared access (Drive's strength for team workflows).
Google Drive specifically wins for solo creators and small teams: 15 GB free, deep integration with Google Workspace, fast sync, Drive Stream for desktop. If your video editor already lives in Drive, friction of «screen-record the reel → save to gallery → upload to Drive» kills you over even ten videos.
How it works (3 steps)
1. Connect Google Drive
One-time OAuth — scoped token that writes to a folder of your choice. We don't read existing files. We don't browse your Drive. We don't keep credentials.
2. Paste a Reel link
Works with all current formats: instagram.com/reel/...,
instagram.com/p/... (post links that contain Reel video),
instagram.com/tv/... (IGTV / longer videos),
mobile share links from the app.
3. Pick the destination folder
Any folder in your Drive (or create a new one). Set a default — recurring research projects benefit from a fixed «Reels Inbox» folder.
What we deliver
- No Instagram watermark. Same mechanic as competitors — we pull the original CDN file, which Instagram serves watermark-free. The watermark is overlaid only on the «save to device» path in Instagram's app.
- Original 1080p vertical (1080×1920). Reels cap there for uploads. You get exactly the file Instagram serves — no extra transcoding.
- Music attribution in metadata where Instagram provides it — important for ad-compliant cross-posting (you don't unknowingly strip a music license).
- Telegram-bot bridge: forward Reels videos friends send you in Telegram chats — the bot auto-saves them to the same Drive folder. Bot accepts forwarded files, not Instagram URLs (URLs go through the web dashboard).
What we don't do (honest disclaimer)
- No private-account downloads. If a Reel is from an account set to private, you need to be a follower with access — Instagram requires authenticated cookies. We don't ask for your Instagram password.
- No Stories or DM media. Same reason — those require authentication.
- No bulk profile download. Public Reels from a given account: we don't ship a «download all reels from @username» tool. Queue links individually. Roadmap item.
- No live-stream recording. Live Reels are real-time only. We don't record them; if Instagram saves a Live as a later replay, you can transfer the replay link.
- Captions / subtitles. Not extracted in current MVP.
Why TubeDisk over «Instagram downloader» sites
- No ads, no malware, no installer trickery. Free Instagram converter sites fund themselves with pop-ups, fake download buttons, malicious bundles. We're a paid SaaS — no incentive to monetize your attention.
- Direct cloud upload. Your device sees zero bytes of the video itself. Especially valuable on metered connections or for mobile-first workflows.
- API stability. Free sites break weekly when Instagram rotates URL patterns or API behaviour. We maintain backend parity so you don't restart your workflow.
- Team-friendly destination. Output lands in your Drive — editors and collaborators have access without you re-uploading files manually.
Pricing
Free tier: limited daily transfers. Pro tier (from $2.99/month): higher limits, parallel queue, priority processing. See pricing.

FAQ
Is downloading Reels legal?
TubeDisk is a neutral technical tool — like a browser. Whether you can publish someone else's Reel elsewhere is a separate question about copyright, fair use, and the creator's permission. We handle the technical transfer; the legal/ethical decision is yours.
Will Instagram ban my account?
We don't ask you to log into Instagram through our service. We process public URLs through anonymous backend nodes. Instagram cannot associate the fetch with your personal account.
Can I save to Dropbox or S3 instead of Drive?
Yes. The same workflow supports Google Drive, Dropbox, and S3-compatible storage. Pick the destination in your dashboard.
How long does it take?
Most Reels are 5–30 MB. Typical transfer (Instagram CDN → our server → Drive) is 10–30 seconds. Pro tier gets priority queue for faster batch throughput when queuing many.
What about Instagram carousel posts (multiple images)?
Currently we focus on video downloads. Carousel multi-image extraction is a roadmap item.
